ok well i have problem. iv had my jack dempsey and my oscar in an 85 gallon tank for over a year and every thing has been fine. and now my oscar is picking on my JD. the only other tank mates are some clown loaches and some corrys and a 5'' pike that no one bothers or gets botherd by. and its just out of the blue. i have moved my JD into a 55. I know he will never be happy there becuse he just sits in a cave all day and just doesnt look himself (pale). so what im asking is. what could it be? do somthing with the cenary or should i just get a big tank for my JD?

the 85 they were in is cycled. they started out in the 55 and that has been going for 5 years. they have been in the 85 tank for 4 months (its pritty new) and it has light colored sand.

yeh he should be ok in th 55, let him get settled in, what you could try which would be better for the JD.. change the aquascaping of the tank (all of it) put the oscar in the 55 and the JD in the 85. let the JD establish territory in the 85 and then put the oscvar back in.

dont change aquascaping until the oscar is out of the tank
