My cichla have been acting totally fine for a long time now. The other day even I posted a video of them playing they always waited for me to put in food. My perams are Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 and Nitrate is below 20. Probably less cause of my WC this morning. The other day I was cleaning out leftover food and poo the filters didnt suck up and I noticed a piece of fake wood in the corner just traps all of it under it. So I took it out. This was 2 days ago and my fish have been like terrfied of me and anyone looking in. They havnt hardly touched massivore in 2 days. They were eating it twice a day and alot of it. When I leave I see them pick up a couple pieces off the ground thats about it. Also when anyones near by they just huddle in the corner geos and the bass. IDK are they easily scared of such a small change? I mean I even added sand before and they didnt act like this. Hell even the geos wont come up and eat they usually are the first ones up as wierd as it sounds...

Shouldn't be too worried they'll go back to normal after a while.
Every time you move some thing around the more skittish bass will tend to do that.

Thanks man! I just feel bad I mean its like never ending at this point I put food in there then they dont eat I got to get it out and scare them all over again :( at what age do they just mellow out lol. I wanna clean the tank without the fear of them having a seizure or something they get so scared lol

Well if you came home and all your furniture was rearranged one day you would act different too...Their territories have been changed and their cover taken away. Give a few days. If it really is an issue and they seem still stressed if you put the driftwood back in I would put a powerhead or some kind of current around it to help blow the area out so that you don't have as bad of a dead spot. Nothing extreme but enough to move the waste.

Just gonna have to deal with it. They'll get over it. We're not talking about a scared puppy here haha.
