hello i have been on this fourm for ove 1 year now and never made a post till now :D i need some help i have got a silver arowana had him for about 10 months got him as a baby 3-4 " he is now 15" has been feeding very well i have fed his smelts and other things that he has always eating .But up till about 3 weeks ago he has not eat one thing i have put in his tank:confused: i have not done anything or fed him anthing that i havent done befor . i change the water 10% every day for the first week of hime not eating but it done nothing  i do a 10% wather change every 1-2 weeks anyway. i did notice for the first week of him not eating he was doing lots of poos (****e) alot more than normal . if any one has any ideas of what could be wrong i would like know please??

have you checked the water prams the water change might not be enough...what size tank is it in...what filtration do you have?

if the dim you said are 4'x1' it is to small of a tank...idk about the filter i have never heard about it...but definatly need a bigger tank...if the dim is in meters the tank is good...not sure what you are using do to the celcus...what are the prams

the tank size is 4ft by 16" soz the filter is a eheim wet and dry . i have a 5ft by 20" for him to go into just waiting on the tank 2 cycle. im just about 2 check the prams.will i check all the prams (ie) ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate ????

the 5'x 20" wont last much longer eathier, need like a 6'x2'x2' for the current size...check everything (for the prams)

ammonia should stay at zero...my ph is 7.3 with my aro... i think it is ok in your tank...do a wc of 30-50% once a week and maybe up your filtration...the ammonia/ smaller tank could be stressing it out and making it not want to eat...you need a bigger tank with more filtration...the 5' is a start but very soon you need bigger...i would do a wc now aswell...you should feed it once every 2 days maybe once a day also...

yeah ammonia or smaller tank is stressing ur aro,and 6x2x2 wont last very long either

arowana are known to fast from time to time..so do not panic.. keep trying everyday but take out all uneaten foods so they do not contaminate the tank.. they can go along time with out eating.. maybe you should try meal worms ... sometimes that will stimulate his appetite.. i never feed live except when a fish is fasting.. it is worth a try...
