Ok i own a 120g tank. When i first set it up i had a cichlid tank it was great. I then switched it over to saltwater. Got bored of the saltwater switched it over to native fish where i kept perch, bass, sunfish, bluegill etc. Got rid of that because cost WAY to much to feed.

Now im stuck on what to put it there. Suggestions would be great. I like agressive fish. So little tropical **** is outta the question.

SA cichlids or African cichlids are pretty common for that size tank... but if you want fierce, go to a planted exodon tank. they aren't monsters so to speak but they are like mini-piranhas but much more active. you could also go for red-tailed barracudas or odoe pikes. go nuts.

How about a hyperactive tank of Monodactylus sebae/argenteus, rhino glassfish, fw mullets, and chromides?

The rhinos will grow to over 5", sebaes to over a foot tall, and mullets to 14" in length.

That's Right! You've done Fresh, You've done Salt, now go Brackish! These fish don't get enough attention IMO. You have your aggressive species and the schooling types. I'm enjoying my eels and silver datnoids in my 80 gallon. And when they are inactive, the scats keep the eyes moving. And they are not little! Scats can grow up to 12" and the datnoids also.

Am I the only person to see a pattern here? What happened to the fish? There are alarms going off with the arbitrary fish disposal.

I am sorry to be the negative voice today, but are you sure that keeping any living thing is right for you? Your own words are not very convincing. Keeping any fish requires a degree of responsibility and you are not coming close in this thread. If you buy it, you are responsible to feed it; not only right now, but also when it grows up and costs more to feed.

You have already had fish from across the spectrum and you are still not satisfied. Additionally you are not willing to invest in their full care.

If you must have killers but will not pay for their food, then you need to consider either raising your own feeders or other alternatives such as sleeping with a bait shop owner or his wife.

Please re-evaluate your priorities before investing in more fish.

Howdy,

CHOMPERS has a good point. Find out what you want, think about it for a while and see if you are still interested in that set-up a few months later. If so, then get it. Setting up a /V\onster tank is not a spur of the moment thing but rather in the category cat/dog.

Aggressive, ie. predatory fish will cost a lot to feed, I guess there is not much of a difference between the natives you had and the tropicals you are looking for. Some members joke that they spend more on fish food than on their own groceries... welcome to MFK :D

Anyhow, you could also set up a single-specimen tank, which reduces feeding costs somewhat. That'll be a bit cheaper. How about a wolf?

Why not some Rays to breeed and make some money... Yepezi would be a Great choice, perhaps your aquarium might be a tidbit too small though.. But regardless, i would get a sweet Ray, an Aro of some sort, and some Knifefish..(RCK, Bgk, aba aba)... if you go aba aba he will prolly kill everything else eventually.. But how can you deny a ray?:nilly:

Sorry mom and dad ( you know who you are)

For everyone else thanks for helpin out

Was not looking for a bunch of predators, Just a couple like mentioned just undecided.

About costing to much to feed not like a couldnt afford it here, but when a fishes dinner is costing more then my dinner we got a problem

DeeGee,

That's all right, this is the forum and website to toss ideas around. Thanks for your kind reply  I mean it. Some others don't take criticism (although constructive at heart) as well as you did. It's harder to communicate on the web than it would be in person.

I have to disagree with importracer on the turtles, they are also a committment for several decades if kept properly.

A crayfish tank would be cool, though. Or are you fixed on aggressive fish? My wolf suggestion is still standing, too.
