I'd like to ask for help in distributing my catfish & other aquatic animals into TWO 50gal tanks. One tank has all these fish in it while the other one's still undergoing cycling.

Can anyone please help me assign these fishes to the two tanks?

Existing:
7 Arulius Barb (Puntius arulius)
1 Asian Bumblebee Catfish (Pseudomystus siamensis)
3 Banjo Catfish (Bunocephalus coracoideus)
5 Upside-down Catfish (Synodontis nigriventris)
1 Albino Clawed Frog (Xenopus laevis)
2 Leopard Pleco (Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps)
1 Striped Raphael (Platydoras costatus)
Reserved at the LFS (for pick up soon):
3 Featherfin Synodontis Catfish (Synodontis eupterus)
Wishlist (considering purchase):
1 Rainbow Shark (Epalzeorhynchos frenatum)
1 Rainbow Snakehead (Channa bleheri)
As much as possible, I wouldn't want to separate members of the same species (except perhaps for the Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps considering that one is an albino and the other the regular variety).

I'd really appreciate some stocking suggestions.

well eventually the the gibbys will have to be moved to a larger tank. But i would keep the synos together soo. by similar biotypes.

One 50:

Syno Nigreventis
Syno eupterus

Other 50:

Asian bumblebee cat
3 banjo
striped raphael

The other fish... idk but this is a start.

Ditch the synos. You sent me a phone message about getting Channa bleheri awhile ago. Put it in one tank along with the following...

1 Asian Bumblebee Catfish (Pseudomystus siamensis)
1 Striped Raphael (Platydoras costatus)

Other tank.
7 Arulius Barb (Puntius arulius)
5 Upside-down Catfish (Synodontis nigriventris)
3 Banjo Catfish (Bunocephalus coracoideus)

Get another tank for your albino clawed frog. Ditch the gibby. I am open to any of the fish you wish to rehome. I do not believe you should have bought the gibbies though considering their size and bioload. You may have to reduce some of your catfish to pave more space for the others as they grow.

That's the trouble with these fish; they look sooo interesting while they're small. Yet they grow too big for comfort.

Put the snake head in one tank and everything in the other

^ also a good idea

That's a thought... :) This would save me from having to catch some of them...

Thanks for the offer. (I still have the Chinese algae eater to be rehomed. It's in the QT, waiting for me to make up my mind whether or not to keep it with some invertebrate company.)

I think I would have to get another tank for the albino clawed frog and bring in some company for him, provided the LFS will have new stocks.

The tanks per your suggested stocking would be pretty much spacious.

Tank #1:
1 Rainbow snakehead (Channa bleheri) - 8 inches max
1 Asian Bumblebee Catfish (Pseudomystus siamensis) - 6 inches max
1 Striped Raphael (Platydoras costatus) - 9 inches max
I hope I'd get to see any of them swimming about while lights are on. As it is, I haven't seen the Asian Bumblebee Catfish since I put it in the tank, although the Striped Raphael has been taught to come out during the morning feeding time.

Tank # 2:
7 Arulius Barb (Puntius arulius) - 5 inches max each
3 Banjo Catfish (Bunocephalus coracoideus) - 6 inches max each
5 Upside-down Catfish (Synodontis nigriventris) - 4 inches max each
I could just leave these fish in the tank where they are now. I'd be hard put finding the banjos; they're still juvenile and are hardly to be seen, even during feeding time. Once, one of them managed to get into the vacuum when I was doing some tank maintenance. Good thing I saw it before it got stuck!

At least, the Striped Raphael and Asian Bumblebee Catfish would be much easier to catch and rehomed as they're much bigger than the banjos. All that is needed would be for me to lift the driftwood and ask somebody else to catch them.

I'll seriously consider these suggestions though I'm still eyeing those Featherfin Synodontis Catfish (Synodontis eupterus).

I'd simply leave the idea of getting Synodontis eupterus. These are very boisterous catfishes growing at 8 inches max and your other fish won't be happy from their constant movements which may become a nuisance to them.
