recently my 4 inch male convict stopped eating from the surface. i want to buy hikari sinking gold, but currently don't have the money right now. i have the floating ones. How can i train it to eat from the surface again without being scared? Also will my other fish (Oscar, Jaguar, Silver dollars) eat Hikari massivore delights, since my friend is willing to give some.

oscars and silver dollars are pigs and should eat those. im not sure about how to get them to train again, but if you have a turkey baister then you could spot feed and keep all the other fish occupied while you do this. ive have to do it several times with this method.
I agree with sweeTang21, the oscars/jag/silver will eat anything they can swallow, right out of your hand...so no worries there.
How big are the convict's tankmates? That convict is small, probably scared of the other fishes. But not to worry he can go quite a long time without eating...I would just give him time, either he starts eating on the surface again, or by then you'll be able to buy sinking food!
