Hello Everyone,

I am a new member and posted earlier today about my new PBASS.

Well, I just got home from work to find that my Oscar (which is considerable smaller) has eaten a major part of the PBASS' flesh.

The area above the pectoral fins is missing a big chunk.

I have separated the two and need to know how to make my first survive this encounter.

What are some tips in healing the fish and nursing it back to health?

The PBass was introduced last night.

Please Help

Just keep them seperated til the Cichla heals.. then take it back if you are not going to be able to provide a proper housing. :) i say this because a 4" there is almost nothing you can do to slow the growth to 8"... Which means you will need a considerably larger tank than 10 gallons.. If you choose to keep the cichla.. Dump the oscar ;)

You could also get some melafix. The healing will be quicker ;)

Thanks guys.

I never imagined the oscar would be capable of this, he is only 2.5 inches, but chubby.

I have turned the heat up to 86, put in another airstone, and put in 5ml "Stress Zyme".

Secondly, I have divided the two with a tank divider.

Should I be adding additional Stress Zyme?

Also, I have sea salt, should I be adding this to the water?

Stresszyme is fine. No need to add salt. Stick with daily water changes until it recovers.
