So I have male and female jack both about 4.5" in a divided portion of my 55 gal. It is bad because the portion is only like 25-30 gals cause I need to move fish out. I feel stupid for doing this.
But on one side of the pair is 2 juvie males and females and on the other a big 6" male jack.
The male in the pair flares at the other fishes an wags and tries liplocking through the divider(they fail) while the female may nudge him a bit until the other fish swims away or he stops.
But also, I noticed tw in the last 20 mins or so the male body wags and flares up at the the female, vigorously slapping the female and she joins in aswell as liplocking. It can be intense and some points and I just worry for my fish if this is fighting or if it will stop.
They sit beside each other for minutes fine sometimes. Lastly I noticed the females egg tube is now a bit visible and it was not yesterday.
