i have a jardini hes about 5-6 inches, i put him in my 160 with my 11 of peacock bass ranging from 6-11 inches and silver arowana is about 8-9 inch. i put him in yesterday, and he got alittle beat up so i changed the water to try and ease tension between them and to help the jardini heal back up. i didnt go to sleep till 5 am, and suddenly woke up at 8 am and knew something was wrong. i go and check my tank and sure enough my jardini got really tore up. one of his barbel almost torn off, 1/3 of his front area of the scales are almost gone. he still swims fine but slow. i had no other tank setup for him to go in, so i decided to pull my 12 gallon tank out put water from the 160 to the 12 gallon, pour 5 ml of melafix 2 sponge filter with bio in it, lots of aeration. was wondering what else should i do? i seriously dont want to lose him since i got him at 1.5 inch

Shouldn't have put him in a tank with peacock bass which are up to 11".

Arowana's are very delicate fish until they pass the 10" stage so you should be more careful next time.

As for the injuries tonic salt from your LFS or carry on with the course of melafix with daily dosages and daily water changes will help. When treating serious injuries I catch the fish in a net and put a few drops of methylene blue directly onto the injuries to prevent infection. If you decide to do this keep the fish out of the water for about 10 seconds to allow the methylene blue to dry a little.

he was fine in the tank. my biggest peacock dont even touch him. my orino's that are smaller then him kept nipping at him, didnt think it the orino was that aggressive toward my arowana as they were kept in the same tank for a month, until i decided to move them to the bigger tank.
