I just wanted to ask, I have a pretty standard 275 gallon with:
2 Red Devils (10'' and 7'') paired
1 Tiger oscar (10")
2 Manganuese (7'' and 7'') paired
1 Dovii (6'') male
1 Silver Aro (22'')
1 common pleco (18'')
We have been catching a lot of smaller channel catfish out here
under a foot long under this stocking list do you think I could keep
one in my tank? I was thinking of eating it but i decided what if i could
keep it!!!!!!!! Do you think this will work?

Would work with a bigger tank.

The channel catfish is indeed an impressive species of fish, adult size is about 18-24 inches, however a 40 incher was caught in Alabama.

Your tank is pretty loaded right now even though it is a nice tank, the bio-load has to be off the charts.

This situation though can be easily remedied by claiming to have MTS (Multiple Tank Syndrome) and getting a brand new 180 aqua-scaped just for that fabulous new addition to your family, they are an awesome catfish to watch, and then you would also have room for a couple more equally impressive Natives :headbang2

keep him - fatten him up then eat him lol

i would keep after quarantining him first ^^

I see that you posted this about 3 months ago and I was curious if you decided to keep the cat? How big was it when you caught it, do you have any pics?

as long as your filtration can handle it, I would also be worried about the cat eating something make sure you get a small enough one but not to small that it gets wasted

What happened with the cat? and also, your red devils get along with all those other fish?

ehh i could see the red devils being the bosses, i think the larger oscar, managuense pair, and dovii can fend for themselves, and of course the aro is fine
