I am in Ohio, and we are just starting to come out of winter ... Temps have been ranging in the 30,40,50s lately during the day, and no idea how cold it has been getting at night time, but i know the koi in my pond are JUST starting to become active during the day.
A friend of mine is moving out of state, and has to rehome several large koi (24") maybe 7 fish and any smaller koi and fry that may or may not have made it through the winter
So my question is, is it too early to be moving fish from pond to pond (they live in the same town as me, so i can only assume they are in very similar water conditions)
My other question is, I shut down my filter obviously during the winter, and so do they. So would adding large fish throw off my pond and cause a spike in bio ???
I was planning on restarting my filtration in the next 2 weeks.
Thanks
Jc
