My texas cichlid has a csyt or tumor on the right side of his body. It causes him to swim like he has a problem with his swim bladder. He still eats. He continues to dig and chase other fish so I don't think he is suffering yet. Can something like this be bacterial and is there a treatment?

What is the temp of the tank, I would start by adding some aquarium salt if you haven't already and take the temp up to around 84F. If you've already done that you may consider medication but I would remove him from the other fish if possible just so you don't overmed something that doesn't need it. Just my opinion.

I had in a hospital tank for a month and treated with salt, melifx, and raised temp. None helped. I think that it may be uncurable but want to make sure. I have had him for 6 yrs hard to give up on him.
