hey guys, i'm asking peeps with experience/knowlege..., i have a pretty nice community already consist of 2 pbass, 4 armatus, 7 bichirs, 4 IT dats and with dithers 5 wide bar SD (and maybe 5 reg. SDs if possible)..., I always been wanting an ARO but dont really like the SILVER/black due to DE.. i had a silver but i gave to my bro cuz its starting to develop it.

i have a jardini in my in-laws tank, and i cud see that wouldn't work out.. that fish is starting to be hella aggressive at 14"... anyways, will the LEI be a good addition for top swimming and always swimming fish...??? thanks

Yes. But lei are much harder to come by.

Yes, but get a Lei about at least the same length of the Armatus or pbass, or it will be food

It's pretty rare for a black aro to get DE. I'm sure it happens, but its far more common in silvers.

just saying.

Lei Aro is possible but It just depends on the fish itself. You might end up with one killing tankmates or you might not, but I would say it's a higher chance of putting a Lei in a community than a Jar. Like SpeshulEd said- Black Aros rarely get DE, hes right. Honestly I've only seen one video of a Black Aro with DE. Higher chance of a Jar,Lei to get DE than a Black Aro. Why not keep an African Aro?

i thought of that too.. but i'm not sure if its a top swimming fish... most of my fish are mid to bottom level swimmers.. i need one that will rule the top... haven't research much on that fish but its with arapaima fam.. not sure if they're top swimmers

They are really active swimmers! My old 20" African Aro swam at top-middle-bottom, :D every level but mainly top and middle. They grow real fast and eat alot too.
