Hi everyone this is my first ever post on MFK so please go easy on me lol
I'm having a new tank and dunno what type of sand would be the best for Rays and what media should I use :(
Many thanks

Welcome! you sir are at least in the right place.... lol... You should check out some of the sticky threads in the stingray forum first... now as far as sand... a lot of people use pool filter sand.. I personally use aquarium sand. To answer your media queation I think we need some info on your set up to help

PFS sands sound good
erm my tank is 72x24 with standard sump 50x18x18 (3 chambers )
btw what the best airpump as welll please

With my high flow rates i always had problems getting sand in my overflows and into my pumps. I use caribsea torpedo beach. Its a very small, smooth gravel.

I find I like a lot of flow to lift waste from the bottom , this combined with Rays moving the substrate and the commotion caused by breeding ur filters will soon clog up with sand I find a mini or micro gravel works a lot better ,

Where do u get them from in UK ? Cheers
What's ur filter system?

I use caribsea torpedo beach, best stuff you will ever find and buy, pool filter sand sticks to rays to much for me.

If you are in the UK then go for unipac sand, does not stick to rays and heavy enough to sink quickly if it gets kicked up into the water column.

I use a sump and a fx5 , and my micro gravel came from wharf aquatics and was recommended by rich (aqua man ) I've always fount sand in my filters when using sand (tried 4 types including pool filter sand play sand ) and gave up and moved to gravel just my choice tho
