My WA Lungfish has suddenly got a swollen vent and milky eyes and is very lethargic ... any advice ??

What are the tank paramaters?
How's the diet?
When did symptoms start?
What's your maintenance routine?

The more info the better...

He lives alone in a 6' tank, with some logs and java ferns and black gravel base. I feed him pellets, earthworms and veggie wafers. Just did a 15% water change last weekend.
Temperature 24C.
Can a lungfish swallow fine gravel ?

Any help or advice ? Anyone ??

Sorry...stupid work...gets in the way of everything. :D

They can swallow pretty much any substrate. I've seen my lung spitting out piles of sand when he's eating.

I would definitely do frequent, small partial water changes...increase the tank temperature, and add aquarium salt. It he refuses food, don't get too worried...these guys can go a looong time without eating.

I would avoid medications if a certain diagnosis can't be attained because you don't want to risk that with med-sensitive lungs anyway.

Well, he died last night. They are technically illegal in my country and it took me 5 years to find him, so don't see myself getting another one in the near future :(
