Add a black or blue background. Limit your light to create shadows. Maybe put the rocks on one side with a piece if driftwood. I tend to create focal points with my decor. Like large rocks and driftwood on one side/both ends or the center. In a fan of more dimly lit tanks. I know my fish appreciate it as they hang out in shadows and cruise through the kit areas. Given the choice mist my larger cichlids choose the shadows. I also prefer natural looking tanks. I try to keep ricks that are very similar and try to not make them look stacked by man.

Make it look more "natural" by making it more random. Dont line the rocks up and dont put the plant dead center. Google golden rule and it should help you a lot with scaping and which ratios look "good" to the natural eye. Bunching some rocks about 3/5 to the side would be a start and dont make anything symmectical

I'd hit the landscape center and get more rocks so that you can do the tank wth one type. Then I'd get another plant or two to help hide equipment.

It might be a little hard to understand but heres what id do. Rocks in the back corners of the tanks, with plants (can be fake) all in and around themImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1400548233.997220.jpg
