Getting the tank up currently and I'm not in a particular hurry, but I'm trying to find a suitable catfish for my tank. Dimensions are 72x18x30tall, and I'll be keeping a few medium-temperament cichlids (O, severums, uaru etc). I've been considering the LSN or a group of spotted or 4line pictus. Not sure if the pictus will be safe from my O, or if my tank is quite big enough for the lima. The tank is also likely to contain a senegal bichir if that matters, and I'm not looking for something terribly rare that I'd have to buy online or pay through the nose for.

My gut feeling is that I'll end up with a group of 4line pictus but if some of you cat folks think the others will work or if something else sounds like a good fit I'd love to hear it.

lima is perfect, so are 3 or 4 pictus. Jaguar catfish is quite the looker, and would fit well in there. Might I suggest that instead of cats you go for a huge shoal of clown loaches? :headbang2

CL's are a possibility...I was actually thinking of maybe a lima & a half-dozen CL's. I know they grow slowly but I'll just leave my old tank up and grow them some. I worry about the pictus because my O is a bit more predatory than ones I've had in the past; for example I've always kept decent-sized corys in my O tanks but this one eats corys. He also eats giant danios and a 3" channel cat that somebody gave me.
