im lookin for a pleco that will clean my tank wall (i never scrub my tank wall) but of course i will feed my pleco. must be pretty active in terms of comin out to get food during the day. 6" to 12" max size. must get alone with polypterus. 175 g tank. primary lookin for an ominivore to carnivore.

I'd get a Flagtail. I'm sure someone will post that they will suck on your poly's but I wouldn't worry about it.
dude just get the L 1; or some variation. best working fish i have owned.keeps my 125 sparkling clean. plus its taken him like 4 or more years to reach 12 inches.
Sailfin plecos never seem to have a problem with eating fish slime unlike some of the other ones who adore it after some time, same with the blue phantoms or as one of the above members mentioned, Fei Feng's work pretty well although someday it might...just might become a slime eater. Depends on how much food you have for it though.
In a 175 gallon.. is that Acrylic ? If it is.. i would recommend veggie eaters.. nothing wood or meat...
If its glass.. Ur fine... I'll go with L-14.. something you can see and it looks nice.. But it wont necessay clean tank... If u want something like that.. try albino sailfin pleco.. or sailfin pleco...
