Ok here's my problem. I am working on a retirement project. It will be a tank in the range or 775 to 1045+ gallons. My current stock was, 2 Clown Knifefish, 2 Black Lancers(I think), 6 NTT Datnoids, 2 Royal Plecos and 15 Clown Loaches. I have kept the CL and NTT together with out any problems. I added Royals, no problem, Lancers no problem. I added small CKF and all hell bro loose. Even though the couldnt fully consume my CL, its like they killed them in at the anyway, only to throw the bodies back up. I was pretty pissed and started to just put them in the freezer, however I couldnt bring myself to do it. Im taking them back to my current LFS and she giving me a refund for the CKF and half for the loaches. She stated that this isnt normal behavior... blah blah blah Anyway, my question is: What other monster fish can I keep with my current stock, minus the CKF, that will not eat my next loaches since I have to start over?

6 NTT
2 Royal Plecos
2 Black Lancers

I will be getting 15 more Clown Loaches.

I dont want Peacocks at the moment. Also in this tank, Dats will be the only hunters I will be keeping at the moment due to my CL incident. Please assist as I want to start looking for something new asap.

Sigh, really need help. BUMP

Edit:
How fast do Flagtails grow?

what size tank?

Flag tails are peaceful, towards other fishes.

if u want to keep CL, u probally want a top water fish. like and silver aro.

But it just depends on what size tank u got

Right now everything will be kept in a 120 gallon. Im making payment on a 775 gallon tank, the guy that Im working with said I can upgrade to a 1045 if I wanted to before the tank is paid off. I have already dropped $4000 on the tank so yes this is real. lol Basically I want fish that can all grow together. I know Dats get slightly aggro, however with the space they should be fine.

when are u gonna get the Upgrade? I would just the tank right now to grow out the slow growing fish like CL. I believe Flag tails grow slow too but, i think its like 1in for every 3 months.

you can try a shoal of flagtail but i hear they are aggressive towards each other.

Datnoids grow slow too. CL are fast fish, so im sure they can avoid most predators.

an Arowana would be nice for your tank. if your interested in those, they grow really quick. 1-2 inches a month. you can have a 2 footer in one year.

Just avoid bottom dwellers that may eat it. Ie catfish, birchirs

above all
just surf the site some, find a fish you like and research it. ask questions if you need to

Thanks bro, its really appreciated, due to the fact no one else wanted to post. I am due to move back to America the end of this year so the tank will be picked up then. Most likely a Christmas present to myself. I was only trying to figure things out now so I can grow the fish out myself. I know that if I try to add small fish in the future there will be a problem. Well I will do more research man, if your on the east coast towards that time frame hit me up. we can chill, talk and put something on the BBQ.

lots of bichirs and maybe some rays?how big are the cl's bro? a tig might also work.

All my fish are small.

Dats are 4 inches
CL's are 2.5 inches
1 Royal is 4 inches
2 Royal 2.5 inches

Thats it. So I the were in a 75, I am setting up my 5 foot 120 right now. Once they are in there, they should be fine until I come back to the states. By then I should have accessories for the new tank.
