I have a 125 gallon tank and the filtration on it right now is an XP3, XP2 as well as an Eheim Professional Wet/Dry canister. Anyways, my 54 gallon corner tanks filter broke and I was contemplating putting the XP2 from the 125 into this tank. I am trying to decide if I should get an FX5 or Eheim Pro 3 and then have just two canisters for the 125 instead of three or else get a second XP3 and have the two XP3's and the one Eheim wet/dry canister. I am used to the Rena filters and have never had any troubles with mine. What do you think the best configuration of filtration for the tank would be? I know I am probably overcomplicating this but I just can't make my mind up. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I't get a fx5 for the 125 with the wet/dry, put the xp3 on the 54, and save the xp2 for another tank

two eheim 2217 , twenty yrs in service never a broken part and silent as the first day plus hugh media space, you decide good Luck!

Get the FX5, if it's the the Pro 3 E; those are loud filters.

Classic canisters from eheim allow one to be serviced at a time and one at each end of tank will keep water crystal clear and pure Good luck!!!

I will be the dissenting voice. I actually prefer my XP4 over my FX5. It is quieter, easier to clean, and does the job I want. I have it on my 125 with the FX5. The one saving grace for the FX5 for me is that it handles the larger size plumbing and thus I was able to easily hook it up to an overflow.
