Hey MFK...
Currently, I am running several tanks, the largest being a 150 tall. I keep Cichlids primarily (Labs, Vics, JDs, Oscars).
Since joining MFK, I have grown a huge interest in Rays and Arowanas. I used to dislike Arowanas (nothing against the fish..an ex-girlfriend's ex-boyfriend used to keep them lol) but your collection here has really peaked my interest.
Also, I never even thought of keeping Rays until recently. They are fascinating to say the least!
Until I finish my basement (most likely a year from now), I am getting limited on space. Most of my current tanks are the tall version since I get more volume for floor space, but I really want a 6' or better tank. I could easily set up a 6' 125...but I don't want to tell myself I will just get a bigger tank later (you never know). I could do a 6' 180, but not sure if the extra volume is beneficial for rays (and I know the square footage isn't big enough to begin with). Once I finish the basement, I would have plenty of room for a really large tank. The more I think about it, I convince myself I should wait until then.
So now I am sort of at a loss. I am thinking it woulde be esaier to set up for Arowanas, but I don't want to discount Rays just yet. Would a juvie Arowana be OK in my 150 tall with current stock? If my plans fall apart, would he continue to be OK in there into adulthood?
Thanks...
