Sorry in advance for the long post.

I love SA/CA Cichlids. For a long time I wanted to get a red spot severum but they are never available around me. I only see really expensive adults once or twice a year. So I got into other SA/CA. I wanted a managuense as a wet pet but I also got a JD and Wild Caught Oscar and pair of Fire mouths. All are juvies except the fire mouths. They are currently in a 75 but I plan on setting up my 125 after the remodel on my house is complete and dividing them between the two tanks. Wouldn't you know after I got my tank set up with all these aggressive cichlids someone locally had red spot severum babies.

I picked up the red spot (he is the size of a 50 cent piece) and put him in my 30 gallon grow out tank with my FM Fry (all about 1" Long). This changes my initial plans all together. I really like the way he looks with the FM so I am thinking of putting him in my 75 with my FM Fry (after the get bigger of course). What of my stock can i keep in the 75 with the severeum and FM if any? And what should I move to the 125. Definitely moving the jag to the 125.

My stock currently in the 75

1 Jag
1 Oscar
1 JD
2 FM

Grow out tank
1 Severum
15 FM Fry

So which of these plans might work for the 75 or feel free to make another suggestion. My favorites are the Firemouths, Severum and Jag in that order. Please tell me why you picked or made that suggestion.

Plan 1
Severum
Oscar
FM and 5 or so fry

Plan 2
Severum
JD
FM and 5 or so fry

Plan 3
2 severum
FM and 5 or so fry

I know it doesnt look like it by my stock list but I really don't want to over stock the tank. I was originally planing on decided which two fish I liked best as the grew, keep 1 as a wet pet and the other with the Fire mouths and rehoming the others.

Plan three but if the sevs pair up they may kill the Firemouth. Alternatively a 75 may not be enough for two adult sevs

If it isn't big enough for two than I will stick with the one. I don't want it to be to crowded. i also don't want a breeding pair going psycho on me..

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think I am going to go with the following will this work?

75G
1 severum 1 JD and the FM pair plus the FM fry.

125G
1 Managuens and 1 Oscar. May though some FM in there as well.

Also how long will it take for the Severum to out grow the 30 gallon grow out?
any chance of the Severum and jag working together in the 125 and keeping the Oscar in the 75?

Don't mix oscars and managuense in a 125. Oscars and parachromis don't mix well IME. Or severums for that matter. If you do the JD, sev in the 75 leave out the firemouth pair they will cause issues.
