Help me decide

Got a new 125 gallon. Fish moving into it are Argentea, heterospilus, a Bocourti and a pearsei. None of the fish are anywhere near full grown and upgrades will be made when the time comes.

What I need help with is whether these fish will look better on black diamond blasting sand or tan pool filter sand. Background will be solid black.

I think PFS would be better, more natural looking and as far as I know these fish would probably just go dark on blasting sand

Yeah I think the black background will give sufficient contrast, black sand might be overkill. I vote PFS

Kinda surprised not a single vote for black. Thought itd at least get one lol

Ive seen numerous videos of people who have kept these on tan sand but, havent been able to find one on black. Would love to be able to compare. I like them on tan, just want to make sure I dont like them better on black lol.

I have black sand in my tank not with any of these fish of course but other cichlids and it looks good but I have a clear background
I think black sand and black background is pretty much overkill

Well you guys win lol. I placed an order for 2 bags of hth pool filter sand from ace hardware. I'll update the thread with pics when I get,the sand and background completed. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions

Don't use blasting sand. Spend the money on real black sand. Blasting sand consist of iron Slag and is not a good substrate.
