I'm looking at going from Africans to South/ Central Americans. Here are the tank specs:

150 Show 48x24x30
Eheim 2229
Eheim 2262
Eheim 2078 Pro 3e
18 watt UV
2 Inline Heaters
Drip water change system 48 GPD/ 2 GPH
Tank has a large rock pile on one side and I just bought some nice driftwood.

I will be keeping my Albino Bristlenose pair. Not sure wether I want a single pet or a group of fish open to any and all suggestions. Fish must be able to live here for life as I can't get a bigger tank for 2-3 years, I know fish live longer but I won't sacrafice their living quarters.

i'd either get a single oscar or jag, or a community os smaller sa cichlids. maybe some angelfish or discus?

THere are many many options for you in a tank that size. You could do a group of smaller ca/sa cichlids like a jack dempsey, a firemouth, a green terror and a convict. Or you could go with some of the more peaceful SA fish like the acaras. Port cichlid, blue acara, keyhole cichlid. Or you could do one large aggressive beast of a fish like a Midas/Red devil or Jag, or flowerhorn. I would suggest looking through the species profiles and seeing what suits you. Like I said there are loads of options with a 150. In my 135 I have a Green Terror, Jack Dempsey, Green severum, Carpinte, Senegal birchir and 2 silver dollars and it's running smoothly with weekly 40% water changes.

Yeah, the more I think about it I am wanting a single 'Wet Pet'. Now to figure out who to get and where to get them. Anyone have any good ideas?

YES!!!!! ANY of the Amphilophus,or Parachromis.......If they have them in your area get a Flowerhorn, even PIKES makes killer single "wet-pet" tanks.
