ok im new to this so ill get to the point. im looking for a small and aggresive pirahna or a off breed that i wont have to get a huge tank for and aggresive for my amusment. at my walmart they sell pacus but i need a 10 gallon for them. i was told about a fish they used to have that totally aniallated two fully grow pacus all by itself so they stopped selling it if anyone know what fish this is could you please help. if it helps the fish i remember didnt even have teeth it had a bunch of barbs in it's mouth instead.

help me please

thnx

It had barbs? like fishhooks? Thats weird or barbs as in barbels? Plus pacus need WAY WAY more than a 10 gallon tank. A fully grown pacu wouldn' even FIT in a 10 gallon.
Pirhana need a large tank too.

are you trying to be funny? "I would need a 10 gallon for a pacu?" they get like 3' long. and if you think 10 gal is bigger then you want maybe you should look in to getting a beta. they are angry and can stay in a bowl. or you know what maybe you should just keep some feeder gold fish till you can spend the time needed to learn about how to care for a fish. I know everyone starts somewhere but damn... if you think a pacu can fit in a 10 gal tank you really need to think of getting a fish that dosnt require the care of a piranha.

ok maybe they werent pacu but i know they werent piranha but a off breed or something like that. when i say barbs basically a bunch of small teeth like a saraded knife. I also just remembered that the one fishes name was like carnivorus convoy or something like thatnot sure though.

well for any piranha you will need a tank AT LEAST 30gal most if not all will need at least a 55gal. 30gal for a juvy 55gal for lifetime. It would be worth saving up for a 55gal insted of buying a 30 then a 55. Now as for where to find them......here are a few online piranha stores. This is how I buy mine, not legal to own in (las vegas nv)
www.aquascapeonline.com This is where i buy all my piranhas from (shipping overnight)
Tell Pedro Casey from Vegas sent you!

Hiya seansippo, welcome to MFK and ECV3, welcome to mfk.
Seansippo, lets start with the basics,
how big a tank do you have available?
how much money can you spend?

Next, we need a better description of the fish you are thinking about, size, shape and color would be a god place to start.

By the way, not many hobbyists in the USA have actually even seen a full grown pacu, they can reach 40 pounds, here is a picture of an adult. there are not all that many fish that are kept that can go one on one with them.

ok well if im not to sure on some of these thing but if no one knows what this fish is then maybe you can help me find a small piranna that doesnt get very big. i dont want to have to get a 100 gallon tank for just a few fish. ive been looking around and found a site where i could get 12 1" red bellies for $50. now is that a good deal? and what size tank would i need for that many piranna? or whould it just be better to get 1 or 2 to start out with?????

the deal is a great deal and when they get big the 12 one inch will become much bigger at least a 100 gal... we keep 16 in a 240
