my gar just last week started to change colors from his normal tan with black spots to a almost whitish tan to his mid section of his body it looks like there's fungus on him as well hes about 11" long and is still some what a baby ive had him for 3 months now hes in a 120 tall with cichlids and catfish of a few kinds Eclips,Raphael,Synodontis the cichlids at texis,jag,jewel,jack,a few more kinds along with silver dollar and a bid parrot please any help would be very helpful thanks mfk members
 
Pics? Most likely one of the cichlids did it, there not recommended to be kept together..
 
hes normally the same color as his head at night his body color is alot lighter but im told thats normal

Your gar looks like it shed its slime coat. This is a sign of bad water quality or severe stress.

Your set-up is not appropriate for a gar, almost every type of fish on your list is a poor tankmate. The gar has no way to defend itself against cichlids. Down the road when it gets bigger there are going to be problems (broken back, etc).
