He was sold to me as a Pig-nose Puffer aka:Arrow head puffer as far as I've read is the other common name. Their given that name because of the arrow shaped mark they're supposed to have on the top of their head. Yet mine has none. Can someone help me positively i.d. Mr Grumpy or Pooey depends on what kind of puffer he is. I'm thinking Congo Puffer, what do you guys think? Thanx in advance for any help I get:D:D!!

+1 Thats a rare color morph too the red!

I think its the red morph or it may be your flash in the pic... But if its the red then they are worth a good dollar usualy go around 200$

He's like a tan color turns a little reddish but not much when he's going to sleep at night he turns dark brown. Don't think he's the red color morph especially since he only set me back $30. Thanx for the help with the i.d. and the compliments!!

^ You'd be surprised... i bought mine as a RED Congo... but by the time i got him home he turned a lot lighter into an almost tannish color similar to yours... now don't get me wrong i didn't pay that much for mine so i didn't mind, but yeah, i wouldn't be surprised if your's was capable of turning red given the right conditions... which unfortunately i haven't worked out yet...

You might want to add some red gravel to the black sand. It might look a little goofy but it kept mine bright red all the time. The Congos are the very best at camouflage.

PP may you can answer this, i often wonder if its turned from red to another color, do you think by adding a bit of red gravel to the tank it would bring its red back out???

How bout some red slate rocks as decor instead of gravel. It's too bad I had a small congo that was red but he got sucked into a power head and the rest is history. By the way is it possible to house more than one congo together or mix him with a hairy puffer or at least a cat.
