hello, i found this guy an had to get him. the guy at the store said he thinks its a hybrid between C. ocellaris and Cichla temensis. ill try an take better pics down the road, but my camera is broken so i took these with my phone. i have kept p bass before an know the smaller they are the harder they are to know what they are. another ? about what size can u tell the sex, or does it depend on the species. i know my monos i had i knew it was a male when he got his lump on his head. well anyway in my opinion an looking at pics, if anything i would say its a mono x temensis. lol shoot i dont know all i know is he looks like he is gonna look beautiful down the road, atm its about 7"

u think its just a Ocellaris not a mix. they do look similar. maybe he was miss told

Occellaris the spotting inbetween the bars kinda threw me for a minute but i think Occell also....Not to mention all the spangle in the dorsel and the second ocelete in the tail fin witch mono can have also but head shape makes me say occell...
 
Looks like a mix Mono/Ocell....Nice tank setup..............
 
hmmm so def Occellaris in it if not a plain Occellaris lol, either way its got some sweet colors an spots so cant wait to get him monster size lol
