Hi MFKers,

Can someone help me ID the fish in following pics?

I bought the fish about 4 months ago. I believed that is jaguar cichlid (Parachromis managuensis) when i bought. he/she is about 3 inches at that time.
Now, he/she seems bloated and doesn't look like jaguar cichlid anymore; suppose to have large mouth as well. Can someone help me confirm? Thanks.

looks female and the coloring is absolutely beautiful good job

Hey Guys, thanks. I thought she was Jaguar cichlid.
But after I search web for parachromis friedrichsthalii, I find that she looks closer to Parachromis loisellei.

Is she Parachromis Friedrichsthalii or Parachromis loisellei? male or female? What's the differences?

I bought her 4 months ago; she is about 3 inches at that time. Now, she is about 4.5-5 inches.
Is growth rate normal? Their growth rate not as fast as Oscar? How long will she take to reach 12"?

Good looking fish.I guess I have to brush up on my cichlids.I was thinking it was a rainbow cichlid.

No.Salvini have a different shaped head.

Friedrichsthalii have bluish worm pearling along the top with constantly visible black stripes and do not typically have red on the sides. Loisellei have lavender along the top with red fins, orange base tones, and a more rounded body shape. I'd like to say u have a female RTM but they usually have more prominent stripes and red on the gill plate so I think u might be right about it being a loisellei (definitely female). And .5" per month is a very normal growth rate for smaller guapotes, especially females

Thanks follen.

@KingofKings55, grateful that you spend time answering my questions.
So, she is female Parachromis loisellei (Loiselle’s Cichlid).
