I was given this good looking guy a couple weeks ago. I think it is maybe a Trimac?? Not sure though.

trimacs usually have 3 spots going from half its body down to the tail, looks like a trimac without a doubt, but the spots are throwing me off.
yeah its either a trimac missing the spot on its head, or a low grade flowerhorn, usually trimacs dont show that much red unless they are in breeding dress
Looks like a trimac but the colors arnt quite right. It looks part fader. Id guess some ZZ blood in him.

I know. It doesnt have the spot on it's head either. I'm stumped. The girl said something like Red-Spot cichlid, but I never heard of that.
It has a lot of red but it's a trimac, altough I can't say its absolutly pure it's closer to a Trimac than anything else. If your not planning to breed it then it's a Trimac.
My guess is the early makings of a RDFH or some sort of Flowerhorn, but not quite there yet. Still a great looking fish, and definitely a nice gift.
