Store had him in a 15 gallon and said he was dropped off so I got him for free and putting him in my tropical pond I’m building indoors

The lfs couldn't ID it? The Gator Gar has been reported to get over 8 ft if you didn't know that.

Yes I was afraid of it being a gator gar, they hesitated to sell me it but ended up giving me it for free so that raised my suspicion of it being a gator gar.. I’ll have to speed up my pond build ASAP so he doesn’t touch my arrowana and oscars,, my small Oscar already ‘disappeared’ lol but another one of my oscars has been hiding in the corner and has some frayed back fins so I want the gator gars new home done ASAP
 
Thank you everyone for answering my first post!! Hopefully the Arowanas I have stay a good size close enough so my gator gar doesn’t munch on them until I get the pond setup
