Help me identify this gar

I just bought this fish from a local pet store on 1/7/2021 and the store had it labeled as an Alligator gar but from my personal experience it doesn't look like one to me. Any help identifying this beautiful fish would be alot of help. Thanks in advance

Not a true gar but a Characin.

Yep agree with tlindsey . Looks like a spotted pike caracin. Great looking fish and doesn’t grow as large as the true gar. To me it’s win win ?

Looks like bicuda. It can get big.

Looks to be a Boulengerella sp, maybe Boulengerella maculata, but more likely to be: Boulengerella cuvieri
