hi guys,

as title says, I got my motoro, the little girl is so small.

we picked her up, had like 3 hour drive,
drip acclimatised her, and poped her in the tank.

last i checked
temp is 28,
nitrate, nitrite = 0
ph 7.2

now its still aging, im watching for spikes and going to do a water change tonight....

but we have giver her pellets and prawns and she just doesn't seam interested.

at most, she at one small piece of prawn, but hasn't touched it since.

what food do you recommend to get her starting to eat, shes only 2-3 weeks old.
I just want to know shes okay and see her eating...

How much is she ment to eat at a time?, is it just a nible ? or like a devour a big chunk..

Keeping in mind im in australia and dont have alot of the things you guys probly feed her. (eg ghost shrip)... Im going to try choped up earthworms and blackworms today.. (both live).

But shes not too skinny either, she was eating with the breeder. And we cant get the same type of prawns that he fed his fish in my area.

shes not that active, like shell swimg around for like 15-20 min just hoping around, not too fast. Then stop for like 2 min breakes in between. Then just sit in one spot for like a long time (45 min) and just do nothing...

I thougt they shoudl always be looking for food..

Also, there seams to be this funny white slimy stuff in my tank, its forming on the edges and waveing around on the base. it kinda looks like a spider web but has the densitiy of snot. Ill try get pics for you.
I cleaned the courner where it was really bad before i put the ray in, and netted all the white gunk out. But it just came back :S Do you think its a fungal problem?

Should i add aquarium salt? how many tea/table spoons per letre/gallon. ?.

Please advise... am i just freaking out for no reason...

Thanks,
Iz

try blood worms or black worms or trout worms cut up into small pieces how long has the tank been up running

agree.... keep tank warm and dark... and give her some time...some rays have taken 2 weeks to start eating...

As the others have said, try black or blood worms; often, newly imported rays get fussy with food and you have to fatten them up a bit before you start getting creative with their diet. Eventually (when they start getting nice and fat) you can start mixing in other foods, often chopping it up and putting it in with their regular food items.

It happens quite a bit- my rays only accidentally eat shrimp or red worms (that are usually intended for the Arowana), although when they start fattening up we'll start working on that again.

Reassure your GF that it is normal for new rays, and go out and buy you some cali black worms so that she can can smile at the ray's new J-Lo booty.

yeah, blood worms are pretty popular, and a good suggestion. and like nic said, keep it dark. someone suggested putting a blanket around our tank when our rays weren't feeling well. it worked magic for us. maybe that would help here.

I held off on the worms as long as i could, but just before i was gonna put them in there, we tried prawns, and shes demolishing them :D:D:D

and shes running all over the place now,
lol thanks for the help dudes.
