I have been considering adding either a p-bass or a pike to my 220g. I mostly like the bigger pikes and am afraid they will be too aggressive. I've always been interested in p-bass but not sure how doable it would be in my tank. Are there any smaller sized p-bass that could live in my tank for life? It is 6X2X2.5 Can I keep a single p-bass? I don't really have room for a group of them. So I guess the main things I need to know is

Can I keep a P-bass for life in my tank?
What kinds of p-bass would be suitable for my tank if any?
If some are suitable are they available?
Can I keep 1 p-bass?

Current stock
black aro
psittacus
severums
Geo Altifrons
polypertus polli and delhezi

Thanks for any help that you can give,
J.D.

not an expert but I'd say your tank would be of a size for C. kelberi or C. intermedia, if you want to keep only one cichla, I'd suggest getting one of a somewhat substantial size, probably relatively close to the size of current tankmates.

I'm an expert...lol jk but kelberis would be fine. Good luck on finding some inters
all still get bug but with your current stock not to sure how they all would do it will be pretty cramp even for you kelberi. Gl

You could keep Kelberi in that tank for life. You could also get away with an intermedia if you could find one.

nah, your tank should be at least 8 feet long and at least 2 wide even for the small cichla, which aren't really that small.

Thanks for the advise guys. Sounds like any of the p-bass would be pushing it in my tank. I guess I will just have to pass. Maybe if I ever have a larger tank.

Thanks!
