Just added a 14 inch jardini to my 210 and hes picking on my 10 inch Pbass, i know jardinis are mean and he might just be trying to show dominance and will stop after a couple days but hes not doing anything to my other fish (spotted gar, jag cichlid, silver aro, redtail cat, pleco) anyone have any tips for calming this guy down ie temp change, dithers, another pbass, another fish, feeding etc.... i want to keep him in this tank

The longer hes in there the worse hell get my jar has a hate for my snook and starting to more an more aggro. I hope you have a massive tank lined up cause you have some monster stock.

bump for my bud!

you are hooped bro....
I had a 12" Jardidni keep a silver and 2 14" pacu pushed into the bottom corner of a 230 gallon back in the day.... If one moved it lost scales.... Had to get him his own tank.... He would shuck out pleco guts like they were oysters.... Nothing was safe with him.... big or small..

My big Jar "Brutus" is very picky about tankmates. He tolerates my cks, fire eel,and rtc/tsn(also has gotten along with my black belt, jack dempsey, and jaguar) but is ruthless to others. Imo if you remove your p-bass your jar will just pick another target. It's all about trial and error. Jardini for the most part are psycho not tolerating any tank mates!!! I have a baby jar in a mixed cichlid community tank. I'm experimenting with the idea that if I grow him out with a lot of tank mates --he may not turn psycho idk yet. Most jars are kept by themselves for good reason.

Good luck,
Chris

Not meaning to rile you, but people have been warned again and again of other's experiences with Jars.

If it is like that upon entrance into the tank, it will pick up one fish after the other on its way to full tank dominance.

Lower the temps, in the meantime, but start preparing another tank....

Jars are hardcore and the fish store should have detoured you to something more tolerable. I'm sure that your stock is plenty. I have enough trouble introducing new fish of the same breed like managuense and I won't mix them with other cichlids. Your tank is huge but I think that it's full. Good luck with that Jar! They do rock but like dude said probably should be left solo.
