alright major question here. could i soak the shrimp i purchased from my grocery store in Amazon Extract?? i bought it from petsmart and im wondering if it would be okay and beneficial? it says it promotes coloration so i need your incentives. here is a link to what it looks like and the full product description. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4368786&lmdn=Fish

p.s. i will be feeding to my 6"black diamond piranha

I work at petsmart and i haven't sold that stuff before. Besides, Cichlid and Piranhas are different... last i knew...? If you want color enhanched, give them black sand, black background and give them pellets and treats like shrimp.

Try new life spectrum Thera +A it has every thing you need in it and garlic which is a great feed stimulant and it's also helps get rid of paracites.

it looks like a water conditioner (maybe similar to black water extra) don't think its meant for soaking your food.
vita-chem is what you should use if you want to use to soak your food in.

what you need is very clean water, good quality and variety of food, soak them in vita-chem if you wish or stuff with good quality pellets, if you can get it on pellets thats great if not, no big deal.
dark color substrate and back ground darkens the fish, since rhom doesn't have much color it will just be dark, you can use plants to contrast the fish. light color surrounding will lighten the color, it will be more silvery but it makes the blood red eyes stand out, at least from all the pix I've seen.
lighting is also important to make the fish stank out in the tank, use 6500k or higher color temperature.

if you want to sure, it's not required but its good to have if you want.

Imagine that. Shrimp soaked in tannic acids.:WHOA: Driftwoods can do a much better and cheaper job than blackwater extracts can. Not for soaking foods actually.
