Ive got a 150 and 55 with african cichlids, loaches and small catfish. Im looking for some kind of invert that will live with them. i've had all types of snails and tried ghost shrimp, fiddler crabs and gold claw crabs, crawfish. are there any FW shrimp, crabs or anything else that wont eat or be eaten by my fish. just want something cool to crawl around the bottom of my tank like reef tanks have. my tank stock is in my signature.
any experience with bamboo shrimp?

Clams won't crawl around but you could get them.

Well,as u stated,bamboo shrimp could possibly be a good choice.For more shrimp u could try:Blue tigers,mandarins,celebes christmas shrimp,indian blue shrimp,honey shrimp,minami shrimp,whitebacks,redtail shrimp,bee shrimp,tigers,signapore green shrimp,bumble bee,hong kong blues,indian zebras,refronted,cherrys,and amanos.though with shrimp you can never tell if they will be eaten

yea, i was thinking the same thing. my luck i'll buy it and find a tail floating

i was gunna say blue lobster ( i dont kno how big they get or the damage they could do... gotta ask the experts on that one)

I'd consider myself a cray expert so here we go.

Don't do shrimp or snails, they'll all be gone the next day.
I'd do some type of yabby because they are so large, you'll african cichlids wouldn't mess with them. There's so many types and variations to choose from too. Tell me what color your looking for and I'll tell you some species that you can get. I'd also buy the kind with large, thick claws, not thin ones.

You can also try procambarus clarkii. (red swamp crayfish, my personal favorite)

i wont do crawfish or yabbys again after what they did to my catfish. I got apple snails that are doing good. the cana snail is bigger than a golfball.

blue knight crawfish are slow and wont catch fish.
