Is it ok to mix south american cichlids with african cichlids? I have a blood parrot and albino oscar that are in my 100g tank. I would like to add some more oscars, 2 bp, and a couple of blue haps, IS THIS OK?

well it is always ''not recomended'' cause the needs of africa are very diferents of those in america. africans need very high ph and very hard water.
it can be done and has been done and continue to be done.. but fish don't look as great and sometimes get stress by the behaviors of other fish with a lot of movement of africans or very aggressive american.
even africans from diffrent lakes aren't recomended to mix in the same tank.

but...! it's your tank..and you are the one that will be looking at it and the one that will give mantainance to it.. so the las decision is yours.

good luck with any choice you take..!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!!! I think I am going to have to get another big tank so that I can have both south american and african cichlids at the same time. THanks again for your help.
