Help me put together a severum tank

I have always loved gold severums, I currently have 2. I recently cleared out some fish in my tank. And I want more severums.

My current stock is 2 gold severums, 1 pink short body con(wife's fish), a tilapia, silver aro, 2 plecos, and 2 retic rays in a 125 long. I want to add 4-6 more severums. But I am not sure which ones to get.

I want a little more color to my tank, so I was thinking green. I have seen some very beautiful ones, and then I have seen some that are not green at all. I have also seen these turquise severums at petsmart, are they hybrids? Does anyone know if they grow to be beautiful fish? If you have pics of severums that you care for, can you post them up. I would apprciate that.
 
I'd shy away from petsmart, especially for a species fairly commonly available at a much higher quality elsewhere.

My Heroine pair is wildcaught and they show some of the coolest colors. I would look into rotkeils, appendiculatus, and WC greens. Other fish that you might want to check out would include the parrot cichlid (which shows a fair amount of green) and geophaugs species (they can have some nice green pearling).

I don't have muc experience with these and the the aro and tilapia that you have...long term, they might not even be very compatible with your existing sevs.
 
The tank is kind of overstocked, take out the Aro and the rays, (get too big anyway).
The you could add 2-4 Severum.
 
My first fish tank i had was second hand and it had a gold and green severum in it with some much smaller fish when i got it ,200 Ltr. The severums were fighting all the time, locking mouths and shaking each other to death. i had to sell them both but would love to have a pair of golds in my new setup, they looked fantastic.
Ps they never botherd the smaller fish, to busy i think.

i totally agree. if your gonna make it a severum tank, you need to get rid of the aro, tilapia, and prolly the rays. you could prolly get 5-6 severums total in there. if your looking for color try and get some rokeils or atabapo in there
 
Hmm, interesting, I think I just may add 2 then. Is the turquoise and the green severum one in the same?
 
While many disagree (including myself), current scientific thought places them as the same species ... just differant regional variants.
