What brand of plant nutrients to you guys use?

So im planning to start an breeding/show tank for Red Cherry Shrimp.

I think i will mostly be stocking it with java moss. do you guys have any other plant suggestions, that are easy to maintain.

It will be done in a 20 gallon tank. i need more lighting, i only have a crappy 15watt light for it. could i use like a 40watt florescent light bulb, for lighting?
 
ehh, not really a jungle but more like a parie lol
just a basic plant set up
 
if you want something simple, the 40w light would be good. take a look at various mosses, java fern, and anubias

Where do u get your fertilizer from and what brand
 
simplest is probably flourish. You can find it at pretty much any lfs. Some root tabs can help too for your rooted plants if you don't have a good nutrient rich substrate.
 
^ Pfertz are nice, but they're costly. I use dry fertilizers and $20 is more than enough to dose a 10g, 30g and 40g for over a year.

Check out RexGrigg.com for more information. I just us a small measuring spoon and add it directly to the tank.

The staples are Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium and a micronutrient supplement like CSM+B or Flourish comprehensive.
 
how long will the fert combo last me?
 
Depends on what type of ferts you use (Dry or pre-packaged), how big your tank is, how much light, tank size, number of waterchanges, etc.

$20 of dry ferts can dose a large 125g or better tank for upwards of 6 months, with high light and CO2. With lower light or no CO2, it'll last much longer.
