hey everyone I am having trouble keeping the ammonia out of my tank on occasion so I am going to step up to the bar and add a wet/dry filter to my arsonal of filtration.
I am planning on setting up an Amiracle advanced slimline 350 from here . I am going with this filter because it is the shortest one I could find with enough space. My stand is shorter than most..
What I need help on is pump size mainly
My tank is a 220 gallon with

1 silver aro
1 royal clown knife
2 fei fengs
2 clown loaches
1 four line pictus cat

current filtration is
2 filstar Xp3's
2 emporer 400's
2 marineland 660R power heads

I plan to keep most of my current filtration if possible. I think that it comes with the HOB overflow but I am not sure what its rated at flow wise.
I would also like the most efficient pump possible if its not rediculous in price..

so swing away with suggestions.. thanks

Americle is a great filter brand. I would run one of the smaller Mag's for that sump. Do me a favor and check what the overflow is rated at and I'll see if I can hook you up with a filter from my job. Let me know if you're interested.

a;; depends on the overflow box... what is the hight of your stand

I think I found that the large overflow box is rated at 1500gph. I am not sure if that is the box that comes with this filter or not. It is going to be about 5' of head into the tank also.. Which mag pump do you recommend? Also I was looking at this
as another possiblity or is that not enough flow?.. thanks again for your help

go with the 18 mag.. about 1200 gph.

have you had or heard of bad experiances with the rio pumps? The reason I ask is that at the same price the rio pumps 1920gph compared to the mag 18's 1800gph and also the rio only uses 115 watts and the mag 18 uses 145.. what have your experiences been?

i just hear mag.drives are better... i use it on my sump for my 180 and i plan on getting a w/d for my 75 and ill use a m.drive
