What are you guys going by to determine female? I'm not a Carpinte expert by any means but I have a juvie and am curious. The blotch in the dorsal method is not always accurate. I think the pics above look male.

thanks for the responses, I thought it was male at first but boy if its male he really likes my male HRP alot. I just hope he gets out of his breeding colors soon tired of looking at the black on him.
