Help me slim down my tank....

I have a 55 gallon that I share with my brother. I believe that it is overstocked. My brother just added a nice 6-7'' austr. red rainbow fish. It has 1 id shark at about 4-6'', 1 delhezi bichir 5-6'', 1 fire eel 10-11'', 7 silverdollars between 3-7'', 1 small oscar, and the rainbow. How can I slim it out leaving the eel, bichir, sds, and rainbow?? I am going to get rid of the id shark, oscar, and how many sds should I get rid of. I am going to upgrade to a 75-90 gallon soon hopefully around Dec.10- Jan 11.

This sounds stupid, but I would not get rid of a large fish, unless you have a suitable home for it because if you take it to the pet store..you just know some idiot with a ten gallon tank is dying to squeeze and Oscar in it..I would feel terrible if I knew one of my pets had to live in a shoebox...Weird logic I know..
 
get rid of the oscar and 3 silver dollar and the id shark.
 
your only overstocked when the fish can't swim comfortably or your filtration and water change schedule doesn't cope with the bioload in the tank..

Agreed. A few days you said all was going to be fine, now two fish are dead/gone.

I don't feel right having the gar or id shark or whatever else my bro has, but since this is my parents house I must obey their rules and make my bro happy. I do like the gar though. He eats shrimp and pellets, I had to starve him off live. I appericate your concern for tanksize, I actully like it. We need more responsible fish keepers out here. I do plan on upgrading.

That was on the second or maybe the third of July. September is 2 months, what happened.
 
I still have the gar and ck.... I don't have em listed because they are not going anywhere. And, why in the hell would you make the assumption that they were dead?
ok... so the 55 will have..
3-4- maybe 5 silverdollars
the gar
delhezi bichir
rainbow fish
till decemember if nothing changes... September the earliest.

Also it will have the CK and the gar.

We just need the facts if you want people to help. Can't leave out fish.

When you mysteriously leave out two fish and you can't get another tank, it's safe to assume they died or you gave them away. That's why I said dead/gone.
