I have a new 55 empty and ready to go. I would love to do a sa/ca in this tank. I have interest in Texas, Green Terror, and Red Devil cichlids...but are any of these a reality in this size tank...and if so I assume only one of them.

If not what would work? Also what dithers and bottom dwellers would make it a well rounded, active, and interesting tank?

Thanks ahead of time...you people really know your stuff from what I've read.

a single texas or green terror would work fine in a 55. as for dithers and bottom dwellers try giant danios and maybe one or two bristlenose plecos.

Sun catfish, 1 pink male convict, 2 reg. black male convict, 1 marbled male convict, and some giant danios or tiger barbs. Provide a hiding place for each fish.

a jewel might work but from what i heard they're really aggressive..

Hi... I had a female salvini and tiger barbs (school of 11) in a 55 a while ago and it was a great active and colorful combination.. You could also add some type of bottom feeder or bn. Sue:D

While it's not the ideal conditions for a RD. I'm currently keeping a female in a 55g. She'll have to be kept alone, but it can work if you have proper filtration.

nice recommendation, you can never go wrong with a sal! and if you don't like tiger bards you could try clown loaches.
