Hi all, so I've been looking in to restarting fish keeping again and have a 46 gallon bow front tank, but I just can't decide what to stock it with. I'm not a noob when it comes to fish keeping, so I know a fair amount about fish. I'm also not a community type of guy and I like more of the bigger fish with more personality. I've been looking around and found a few of my favorites. I like Oscars a lot and have had them before, but my new tank just isn't big enough for them, I might be able to keep one in it for a year or so but I want my fish to have the happiest and healthiest life possible. So an Oscar would not be my best bet, right?(if I do get one it would only be one with no other tank mates.) Some smaller fish that are better for my tank that I've been looking at are convicts and elephant nose fish. I'm a little more interested in the elephant nose fish though because I've read that they have a great personality and have an electrical sonar to seek out food. So how do you guys feel about the elephant nose fish? And my last question is what types of cichlids that grow mid sized would do best in my tank? Thanks! Please feel free to give any other suggestions of fish to stock in my tank. And yes my tank is cycled..... haha. :D

I think they are pretty cool fish. They have a little mean streak and will stand up to bigger cichlids. I love how they flare their mouths. Just go to youtube and search firemouth aquariums.
