So I have a 60 just chillin in my garage and I'm setting it up since I have an extra canister filter now haha. I want to put a blue acara in it and I was thinking 3 geophagus. Anything else? Any specific geo? To much? Lemme know.

Thanks.
David.

What's the footprint of the tank? You could probably do small Geos or something like Bolivian rams (which are like mini Geos), but a lot of the Geo species grow large and you'd probably be overstocked. I'm seeing some pretty large altifrons, abalios, etc. from forum members and it's making me glad that I have all my Geos growing out in big tanks.

I prefer Biotodoma cupido, cupid cichlids, to Bolivian rams. I have 5 in a 60 gallon now. They max at about 5 inches, supposedly. I was advised by some more knowledgeable folks that I could do this in a 60 gallon.

I have 2 cupidos going on 3 years now very colorful and easy to take care of. They are however extremely skittish, like silver dollars, how are yours?

I love Cupids I just didnt know if they would work in a tank with blue Acaras. I dont know much about blue Acaras but someone sold a pair to my LFS that I loved when I saw how they look. Cupids anything like a Geo? Could a breeding pair of Blue Acaras and Cupids work together in a 60? 80? I dont know if I want breeding pairs yet the Blue Acaras were supposibly a breeding pair but it looks like 2 females to me. Doing some more resaearch and am going to look again tomorrow.

Also there is one Blue Acara at my LFS that I really like the look of. So If the two pairs wont work then would one Blue and a pair of Cupids work? sorry about all the questions would rather do it right than wrong, Google isnt the most trustable of sites to use for research haha.

David.
