hey, me and my family are moving this winter onto a lake, and i want to get a tank and stock some natives in it...the size i was thinkin is 125-150 i am not sure mabye even a 180. what are some cool natives i would keep in it, i was thinkin a few yellow pearch, and some cool minnows of some kind, but i cant really think of any other cool larger fish to put in, anyone got any ideas? i am really open to anything because this will be my first FW tank in a while.

we are moving onto lake minnetonka in minnesota if any of u know what it is, or if u heard of the vikings love boat thing hahah. so i should be able to catch alot of cool fish to put in it.

i was thinkin of mabye gettin a few pickerel anyone have any experience with them? and what would be the best thing to feed alll of them?

I've heard that it may be tough to keep multiple young pickerel together as they tend to eat each other. Once they get larger this isn't too much of an issue. I'm currently keeping a redfin pickerel and plan to get a grass pickerel to put in a 180G together. You can convert them over to dead food but it may take a lot of patience. I have yet to do so, so I'm currently feeding mine live minnows. I've heard of people getting them on silversides and raw shrimp.

You won't be able to keep small minnows with yellow perch as the perch will devour them all. You have to decide what type of tank (community or predatory) and stick with it.

I've got a 6" chain pickerl and it is probably one of the coolest fish ive ever had it destroys small minnows and nightcrawlers.
