As the title tries to state(I couldn't figure out how to word it..) I need help figuring out ways to transport my 20in. Silver Arowana. This move and transportation is last-minute and must be done tomorrow morning.
The Arowana has eaten in the last 24/48 hours, but not live food if it makes a difference.
I was suggested to go to my LFS and ask to borrow/purchase a live fish shipping box, but sadly my LFS only had insufficiently small boxes.
So far, all I've got for options are:
-Bring a 55g long in the back of the SUV we're picking it up in & fill some of it with water at the residence that the fish is at..
-Cardboard box with black-plastic(as opposed to white, if it matters at all..) trashbag inside filled a few inches up with water..
-Plastic crate with attatchable 'lock-in' lid..
I know.. Risky.
What I really need to know now is if the plastic in the trashbags(white or black) or if the plastic in the crate will be harmful for a 10-15 minute drive back to my house.
I'm really considering the 55g long, except I'd have to break down the waterless tank first, then getting it into the car, the fish to the car, and home..[AND IT DOESN'T HAVE A LID...]
Any suggestions, oh humble MFK members?
