I really dont know what ta do here I clean my tank every week but this Brown alge just keeps comin back and why! Is there sumthing i can do, or sumthin ima doin wrong? I can use all the help i can get...
Oh ya.. It's a 150 gallon that houses an very agressive Silver Aro that eats big green tree frogs and his best friend a Florida Stingray that one of the best fish I have eva gotten, that eats from the hands of any human and will do back flips of a piece of shrimp! :woot:

Im sure i dont keep my lights on no more than tha next person, mainly at nights! but not all night probly bout 4 hours a day! Someone told he it might be my phostates what eva that is!

Just scrub the algae away ?

I have the same problem on one of my tanks. Is there any kind of sunlight hitting the tank during the day? That is what I have narrowed my problem down to.

your tap water probably contains a high amount of phosphates like Majikterror said daylight hitting the tank provides photosynteis for the algae and phosphate is like a big mac
large algae balls from the lfs help natuarly use up phosphate without adding to the problem

if you have no plants cut back the lighting with tint or tin foil with holes poked in it darken the sides and the back of your tank if its near a wall
