Petco is having a GIANT sale with tanks and I am looking at getting one of the veija species and I've narrowed it down to Zonatus, argentena, or synspilum. Do they roughly all get the same size? I can't decide which one I want!!! But the purpose is for a "show fish" for the living room that will stun guests, cause my wet pet motaguense is upstairs and is seldom visited!

Argentea &
Zonatus

Check out their body shapes too; they become different with growth.

Argenteas should be good solo because I hear they get mean when bigger and will pick on tank mates. Thy are fancy beautiful and their breeding colors really amazing.

Zonatus got the better body frame out of the two in my opinion because I like squared and thick bully looking fish. Breeding colors can't compare to the Argentea but equally Amazing to that in their own beauty of shiny blue and black being Solo and feeling good

Zonatus !!

I would even look into a regani they look awesome as adults.

But I have to say Synspilum is what pulled me into viejas. Potential for big hump plus multiple colors.

I agree with Empyreal, if your in only looking into the 55gal size, it is too cramped for any of the 3 you mention, as adults none would not be able to turn around without brushing fins against the glass. Not bad as a grow out tank for juvies, but about half the size needed for an adult to stay healthy and look its best.
I have kept all 3 and could not decide, if I had to choose.
